Jay Weissberg NY-born Jay Weissberg lives in Rome and has been a film critic with the industry paper Variety since 2003, travelling to film festivals throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. In addition to covering contemporary cinema, he’s published on aspects of silent film and has programmed for the Pordenone Silent Film Festival and Bologna’s Cinema Ritrovato. He’s also acted as mentor in programs for young film critics in Rotterdam, Berlin, Cairo, Locarno and Abu Dhabi. | |

Christoph Schneider Born in 1954 in Basel. He graduated in theatre studies and journalism from University of Vienna and worked as a freelance culture journalist mainly for the Basler Zeitung. Between 1987 and 2000 he was editor of the Suisse Television and film critic for the Basler Zeitung and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Until end of 2003 he worked as film editor at the Zürcher Tages-Anzeiger. Since 2004 he regularily writes as freelancer in the culture section of this newspaper. |
